Journal of Clinical Genetics and Genomics is an open access publication aimed at understanding how genetic mutations in specific genes affect the phenotype, and how this information might be harnessed to develop new approaches to therapy. By means of the studies published, this journal aims to bridge the gap between the lab and the  healthcare centers.
The Journal of Clinical Genetics and Genomics places special focus on the underlying cause of inherited diseases and genetic syndromes such as: Fragile-X Syndrome, Thalassemia, Huntington’s disease, Cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome,  Mitochiondrial Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, and Patau Syndrome. Special impetus is placed on studies dealing with molecular approaches in understanding the  disease pathogenesis. The journal welcomes related studies on the gene therapy to develop fitting solutions for the effective management of the disease.
Studies involving genomic studies such as: genetic mapping by next generation sequencing techniques, RNA-Sequencing, ChIP-Sequencing, and microarray are highly solicited. Further, studies concerned with diagnostic techniques such as RAPD and RFLP for screening mutations or identifying polymorphisms are also solicited. The scope of the Journal of Clinical Genetics and Genomics also encompasses articles from the fields of neurogenetics, cancer genetics, medical genetics, biochemical genetics, population genetics, genetic epidemiology, and immunogenetics.
The main purpose of the journal is to publish foremost reliable source of information on the findings and current developments in the mode of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc. in all areas of the field and making them freely available online to the researchers, readers, visitors across the globe. Rejoicing Two years of successful publication history, the  journal echoes its commitment to promote systematic enquiry and investigations into the risks posed by increasing prevalence of Journal of Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
Journal facilitates secure access by providing user friendly tracking system where authors, reviewers & editors can track the real time status of the manuscript.
International funding bodies must focus on empowering the less privileged societies by investing on communication infrastructure building and providing basic amenities to encourage schooling and universal literacy. Scholars of the third world are unable to participate in the research and publication process due to low or poor access to information. Authors of the low economic countries are unable to afford the high publication charges of the ‘Open Publishing’.
Although ‘ Open Access’ movement to certain extent break this barrier by providing free access to the researched information to all, under privileged and economically weaker societies could not participate in this movement and hence unable to ripe the benefits of open access.
